Exercise Physiologist’s (EP’s) are university qualified health professionals who use exercise and lifestyle changing programs to prevent and manage a range of chronic diseases and injuries. Clients may live with these conditions for the rest of their lives, an EP will help you control your life, instead of the disease controlling you. EP’s are able to help and treat clients with such conditions:
- Diabetes Obesity
- Heart disease
- Chronic pain
- Depression
- Arthritis
- Cancer
- Osteoporosis
- COPD
- High cholesterol
- Hypertension
- Pre and Post Surgical Rehab
Movement Medicine EP’s will go through a brief history of your medical condition to gain a deep understanding of how your condition is affecting you. The EP will then clinically assess you and put you through the required tests to determine your blood pressure, heart rate, fitness level and strength. An exercise program will be created and you will be demonstrated and supervised as how to complete the exercises prescribed. Your EP will then guide you how many times you need to complete your exercises at home or the gym and review and constantly upgrade your exercises once you start doing better.
All EP’s employed at Movement Medicine Physiotherapy Clinic are Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP’s) and are registered with Medicare, DVA, Workcover and all major health funds.
